Which file need to edit for threshold?

Edit the cogtr.xml

Higher threshold values lower number of mdp files

Lower threshold values higher number of mdp files

How MDP file size is created?

Transformer determines the number of output files needed by taking the number of data records in the cube, dividing by the Multi File threshold, and rounding up.

What is threshold?

Is 31.

Lowest limit of mdp file creation?

The lower the number the more the MDP Files Cognos Recommends starting at 100000 to get the MDP Files created.Lower the value to create more MDP files. 

Why not more MDP files?

The more MDP files the slower the cube response time for the cube.

What is the size limit of the cube to create MDP file?

MDP file can created by any desired size(150 KB or 150 MB, 1.5GB can be anything) 

Save the xml and save model?

In order to reflect (MultiFileCubeThreshold) changes made in XML to our Transformer Model,We have to save the model after giving those desired partition size from properties of the powercube. And finally and mainly we need close it and re-Open the model..Then we get a pop up message saying "Do you want Reload the Previous version of XML. 

Since we have changed to newer version.. we have to say "NO" and then open the model and save. 

And as usual create a cube.
